They light up the steps perfectly. Enough light to see but not enough to blind you. I would recommend them for steps. They would be good for ambiance lighting on a deck or in the landscaping.

The installation was really easy. This was a great solution and worked for what I needed. I bought these to replace the pedestal solar lights that once lined the driveway. The new solar step lights really cleaned up the approach to my driveway to have these lights tucked out of the way, and attached to the fence rail.
