This drain cover is as durable as it looks. I was not sure that it would be of stainless steel quality, but it is made of a strong stainless steel metal to which the rubber seal is attached. The drain cover seals the large disposal opening much more reliably than the hard plastic drain caps that come as standard accessories. This was a great find for the sink drain seal problem. I constantly had to re-seat the drain cover to secure the seal until I was able to make this purchase. Great product in its own right! An immediate kitchen standard for disposal drains.
